Uniformed Services University : 1994Graduated in 1994 from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Training was also received at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Andrews Airforce Base with main training on the base of Bethesda Naval Hospital.
Residency:
Fort Benning, Georgia : 1997Family medicine residency with full spectrum of pediatrics to geriatrics as well as obstetric deliveries, minor sugeries, and inpatient medicine. There was also training in advanced trauma as part of the military mission.
Fellowship:
UNC Faculty Development Fellow : 2004Training designed to improve a family physician's ability to lead in teaching, management, research and use of technology. The training was conducted over a 1 year period and took place at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
Other Certifications:
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support : 2008American Heart Association qualified for both a provider and an instructor in advanced cardiovascular life support skills.

Publications:
North Carolina Medical Journal : 2008Integrating primary care and mental health in the Army. This commentary discussed how Fort Bragg was screening soldiers for PTSD in order to treat soldiers as quickly as possible.
